To what extent do you agree with Thompson’s (2011) assertion that “HRM is indeed in trouble, both theoretically and practically”?

Students should use the article “The Trouble with HRM” published in the Human Resource Management Journal in 2011 as the basis of a critical examination of the current state of HRM. There should be a reference to theoretical perspectives as discussed throughout the module (attached), in addition to an analysis of the practical changes seen within organisations. Although the Thompson article will provide a useful starting point, students should incorporate a wide range of material as discussed throughout the course and not simply present a summary of the Thompson article.
