Social Communication

250 words should answer this question:

How do you think the social environment in which you grew up has influenced your communication style? Think about what you've learned about gender, age, education, employment, politics, religion, etc. Are there certain "rules" you were taught that other people may not have learned? I'm old enough to remember that boys and girls were taught different behavioral roles. If a boy got hurt, he was told to "be a man and not cry." Little girls were hugged and kissed and told "it's ok to cry." Discuss some of the social conventions you've learned!!

1.  This week, you are looking at the way we "think" and make decisions.  Think about your own attributes.  What do you think influences your decisions the most?  When you "aren't sure" about a situation, person, place, or thing, what do you do?  How do you think gender impacts your decisions?

2.  How do YOU manage dissonance?  Do you tend to use one pattern?  Do you use a combination of approaches?  What influences how you manage the dissonance you  experience in your life?

3  Explain what you think Message Design Logics means!!??  Does it make sense to you?

4 How do you feel about the “nature versus nurture” paradigm?  How do you think it impacts the way we communicate with each other?
