Open Theism in McCormack's “The Actuality of God”

57

In his chapter on “The Actuality of God”, McCormack suggests that Open Theism may be considered “orthodox” in regard to its Arminianism (i.e. its view of election), but that it is outside the bounds of orthodoxy with respect to its understanding of divine foreknowledge.

Respond to the following:

1. Do you agree with McCormack’s assessment? Why?

2. Give at least 3 theological reasons why you agree/disagree with him. Your reasons should not be given as mere personal preferences but should reflect solid biblical/theological data that support your position.

3. Would you say that Feinberg agrees with McCormack? Explain.
