Two sources assigned in class
Only one of these sources can be a literacy narrative
Three credible sources from your own research
One source will be a peer-reviewed academic article
All sources need to pass the CRAAP test discussed in class

Instructions: In previous assignments, you brainstormed about the concept of literacy and what we’ve learned together in class so far. You worked to identify a research question narrow enough to fully explore in a five-page essay but substantive enough to warrant this scholarship. You conducted research, evaluated, and summarized sources in an annotated bibliography. Throughout the process, you worked with peers, offering your own feedback on their questions and research and receiving feedback yourself. 
Now it’s time to put all of these efforts into a full draft of your research essay. 

Specifications: 
A clear thesis statement in your introductory paragraph, which offers an answer to your research question
Body paragraphs in MEAL structure
Five (5) full pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12-point font
MLA formatting and citations
Works Cited page (on the sixth page)
