In what ways has the colonial experience of countries in Africa and Asia shaped the trajectory of development since independence?  Begin with general discussion of theory, and then provide specific examples from at least two countries.  

Compare and contrast corruption levels and its impact on the well being/development in two different countries. In answering this question be clear on what measure(s) of corruption you are using and what specific measures of well being/development you are employing.

hesis statements and introductions: You are not writing a mystery novel.  The reader should not have to wait until the last half of the paper to know what your argument is or what your examples are.  So, state up front what your core thesis is and what cases you are using to build your argument.

Organization matters:  If you lay out a clear introduction, the rest of the paper should be structured accordingly - I’ll give some examples below.

Proof read!  We all make mistakes - I know I do.  I don’t catch all of mine, probably you won’t either.  However, please take some time to read through your paper before turning it in.  A few typos will not really hurt your grade.  Consistent mistakes will impact the grade.

Citations:  As noted last time, citations are important.  Please make sure you thoroughly cite the sections of your paper.  Do NOT cut and paste large sections from a source and then throw a citations at the end.  If it is a quote, make sure it is clearly labeled as a quote.  In no case should more than 10% of the content of your paper be made up from quotes.
