In this project, you will reformat the starting file into a Depreciation Model file. The project will test your knowledge of the Excel 2016 skills learned to date.
All the orange fields are for the user to input data. All other fields must be derived based on this data.
The following formatting should be completed such that your finished product looks like the PDF file contained in the asset section of the project. The notes below provide some guidance for items that cannot easily be determined by reviewing the PDF.
All fonts should be Arial 11 point unless otherwise indicated.
Company name should be 24 point font
Model name should be 16 point font
Named Ranges should be created for Useful_Life, Asset_Cost and Salvage_Value
The phrase "Depreciation Expense for" and "Book Value" should only be type once.
Whenever the value in cell C8 is used it should be used as an absolute reference
Set a print area as the model excluding the lookup table
Set margins to 1" all around
Center the print both vertically and horizontally
Setup the final document for print
The Data Validation section uses the below rules. If the data validation is met, a green check mark should appear, else a red X should appear.
The Asset Type is validated against the table of allowed values to the right of the model
Salvage Value cannot be more than the Asset Cost
Assets can only be placed in service on the 1st of the month
Useful life must be at least one year
Determine the Depreciation Expense and Book Value that should be derived using formulas and functions.
The Depreciation Expense and Book Value should be "NA" if an error exists in the Data Validation
If Useful life is less than 1 year, an informational message should appear indicating the Assets with a useful life less than 1 year should be expensed.
