The paper should reflect my ethical worldview. I am to support my worldview through using the methods of ethical argument and analysis we have discussed in class (outlined below):
• Describe what you would do in making a recommendation to a decision-making group who may not share your faith perspective.
• Convince the reader of your ethical position through application of moral rules and ethical theories, as outlined below.
Use ethical terminology based these ethical theories in a meaningful way: Provide a Case Analysis from these ethical theories and perspectives:
• Utilitarian Perspective (what would a utilitarian do in this situation?)
• Deontology Perspective (what would a deontologist do in this situation?)
• Ethics/Virtue Perspective (what would it be like to make a decision from a ethics/virtue perspective?) - BTW - this is my perspective.
• Rights and Justice Perspective (what would it be like to make a decision from a virtue perspective?)
• Clearly articulate the basis of your logic in your analysis process.
• Provide research to support your ethical position and argument specifically from (Business Ethics by Richard R. DeGeorge, 2010) textbook.
• Professor says "avoid relativistic thinking like the plague!
• General moral analysis may be helpful.
• Must stay within parameters of the case.
A lot of outside research IS NOT necessary. Professor wants to know WHAT WE THINK & WHAT WOULD WE DO BASED ON OUR OWN ETHICAL/MORAL VALUES. Note from Professor: You may find the “Steps of a General Moral Analysis” (DeGeorge, 2010, p. 90) helpful in your thinking. Use that as a backdrop for your thinking. Be sure that you do not “truncate” your analysis before considering all the steps and issues. Use good logical arguments and avoid logical fallacies.
