Developing and Maintaining Intimate Relationships through Self-Disclosure: A Focus on Self-Report Methods

The aim of this assignment is to write a report that examines ONE research method that has been used in the study of sexual behaviour and relationships and to identify the methodological advantages, disadvantages, and ethical issues associated with the research method.

Your report should include the following sections:
i)    An Abstract (100-120 words) – The abstract should be a summary of your report in its entirety;
ii)    An introduction to the topic, where you summarise your argument and outline what you will do in your report;
iii)    A statement of the research method you have chosen and what it involves;
iv)    An example of one research study that has used the research method with a discussion of how the study has used the method;
v)    A critical evaluation of the research method, with reference to the selected research study (what are the strengths and problems associated with the research method, with examples of each drawn from your selected research study);
vi)    A brief discussion of ethical issues associated with the research method and how these could be overcome;
vii)    A conclusion;
viii)    At least two references.
