Cultural Dimensions Paper

This paper is a six to seven-page paper (not including references or appendices). For this paper, you will perform a cultural analysis of the country you are visiting. You will then analyze the cultural dimensions of that country and compare those dimensions to the culture of the organization where you work (or worked). For example, if you are going on the China trip and work for American Express, you would analyze China and compare their cultural dimensions to those within the American Express work environment.

Go to geert-hofstede.com and select the “compare countries” radial button: https://geert-hofstede.com/countries.html (Links to an external site.). As you select your country (for example China), it will show you how it ranks on six different dimensions: Power distance, Individualism, Masculinity, Uncertainty avoidance, Long-term orientation, and Indulgence. Ignore indulgence. You will compare the country’s dimensions to your work environment along the first five dimensions and will provide at least two additional external references to support your position for each dimension. Your sources should be valid viable sources (not from your friend’s blog…) that demonstrate, for example, uncertainty avoidance within the country you are analyzing. Finally, you will make recommendations with regard to how your organization could expand into that country’s culture.
