Conflict of interest

Please write an essay of about 750 words that addresses one of the ethical topics listed on the syllabus under "Topical essay." Define or describe the topic and give a significant example (or more than one) of how the issue is playing out in the news media. Discuss how individual journalists or news organizations are dealing with the challenges presented by the issue. Evaluate their response to the situation from an ethical decision-making perspective. 

The essay should include authoritative sources other than your textbook. Please provide a Works Cited page and/or list of sources (URLs) that you rely on as the basis of your essay.
