Communication Theory - Role of Communication

Part 1: (200-300 words)
It seems like we've seen a "revival" of "social communication" this year.  Protests are taking place all over the world on a regular basis; people are more involved in the political system; and commercial messages are causing uproar (Pepsi).  This week, I would like you to think about the role and concept of communication in the social realm.  Have your communication habits/patterns changed?  Do you find yourself seeking out more kinds of information?  Are you avoiding sites/messages?  Why do you think it's happening?  Where are we headed??.

- Think about the way you've seen "communication" change in your lifetime.  You are communication critique.  What do you see in the future for communication?  How do you think the traditional roles of "speaker/source" and "audience/receiver" will change?  Stay the same?
