Black feminism creates Education activism.

56

Students will create a 6 to 8-minute multimedia artifact, an accompanying 1 to 2-page explanation paper, and a 90-second presentation that will collectively count as the final exam.
Students will use a theory or political perspective that we have discussed in class (Pan-Africanism, Afrocentricity, womanism, Black feminism, Black user studies, Black trans studies) to analyze a theme related to religion, music, fashion, or activism. Students are expected to cite at least 6 sources. At least 4 sources must be peer-reviewed (scholarly journals and books; Wikipedia do not count) and 1 source must come from the class. Over the course of the semester, there will be three check-in points to ensure that students have adequate time to produce their research project: a research proposal, an annotated bibliography, and an outline of the artifact. These check-ins will count towards your project grade.
