Bite of Blood Safety

In a document of no more than 500 words, do the following.

1. Identify the chapter you are discussing
2. Briefly (max 50 words) outline the challenge presented in this chapter.  Paraphrase but do not exactly restate the “decision point.”
3. Provide an overview of the main policy-making challenges of this chapter.  Max 100 words. We probably discussed these in class. This may be point form.
4. Discuss one of those issues and some ways to address it in more detail. This may also come from class discussion, although you may wish to use the references in the textbook. This section may not be point form. 

This assignment requires you to make some independent decisions about what is and is not important.  It furthermore requires you to pay attention to the discussions in class and condense key ideas into very short passages.  Five hundred words is not a lot of space. However if you just write until you have written 500 words, you will likely have not said enough.  So write more, and then work to condense it.  Ask yourself how you can say something in fewer words.  Ask yourself if you are repeating yourself.

For part 4, above, DO NOT use point form. You are making a brief, cogent, and tightly written argument. 

You may include external references.  A reference list is not considered part of the 500 word maximum.  A reference list should be on a separate page. Remember to reference the text book.

If you are citing material in the body of the assignment, use endnotes.  This way references do not count for your word limit. Endnotes must also be on a separate page, and it must be on a page separate from the reference list. 

Please use Times New Roman, 12point font, with 1” margins on all four sides, and DOUBLE SPACE your document.  Any other formats will not be graded.

Please use Chapter 6 from the textbook "Case Studies in Canadian Health Policy and Management" Second Edition by Raisa B.Deber with Catharines L. Mah
