Based on the Novel: Anil's Ghost by Michael Ondaatje

Literary Essay Topic to be either:

1. Choose ONE of these images and explore its significance to the novel: a) Eyes b) Water c) Miners and mining

OR Examine the relationship between Sarath and Gamini paying close attention to either their differences OR their similarities.

Also:

1. Please include 3-5 quotations per paragraph.

2. Model essay on a 5 paragraph essay but must be written in more than 3 body paragraphs therefore a minimum of 6 paragraphs in length.

3. Each body of the paragraph must have a clear topic sentence which directly connects to the thesis.

4. Each body paragraph will have a proper concluding sentence and a transition to the next topic sentence of the next body paragraph.

5. Each body paragraph will follow the point, proof, explanation format.

6. Introduction: Start off with a broad statement regarding the topic and then work towards thesis statement including the 3-4 point which will be proven in the essay.

7. Conclusion: Restate thesis and highlight point proven.
