Cultural, social, and personal responses to Puberty

Cultural:

-Define: Initiation Ceremonies(a rite of passage of boys/girls making entrance or acceptance into a group or social( for instance: a formal admission for girls/boys to adulthood( by a girl’s menarche, the first occurrence if menstruation in a girl/women; boys too are required to engage in violence, physical pain to acquiring strengths, courage such as traditional stick fighting between young boys in certain tribe of Southern Africa, etc)

Social 

Personal:

- non-western countries that do not have puberty rituals like those of Traditional cultures (e.t. tabooing (Samoan adolescents);

- there can be both negative/positive beliefs about menstruation exist within the same --culture (Asante, a culture of African nations of Ghana. etc)
