Applying Quality Improvement

The hospital where you work is assessing its' electronic medical record (EMR), which has been in use for one year. You have volunteered to be on the task force to lead the review. The team meets to discuss critical issues that need to be addressed. Some of the issues are staff acceptance of the new system, errors, and information that is not easy to access in the EMR and then the representative from the hospital finance team asks, "What about meaningful use?"

2. Why are the questions that the team members ask important?
3. How might meaningful use affect what the task force does?
